Baby Talk

John and Casey have a little conversation on the lawn.

Solo Swimming Lessons

Well, we've passed a big milestone today. Lucy is doing swimming lessons on her own! She's in the same class as her friend Miriam. I was a little worried she wouldn't go into the water without Dad but she was very excited although she needs to get used to the teacher. She was little bit scared of her.

John was very excited to watch his big sis swim.

Hottest Day Ever...

As everyone knows - yesterday was brutally hot. We blew past the old 100 degree record. At one point the car said 109! We headed down to Lake Sawyer to cool off. Lucy was swimming by herself with a life jacket on and even little John got his first dip in the lake. He was thrilled! Here he is telling Nana about it.

Look at Me! I'm 2 months!

John hit the 2 month mark yesterday. He celebrated by getting 6 - yes, 6 - immunizations at the doctor. He took it like a champ, crying when the needle hit his leg, but recovered very quickly. He definitely isn't his usual chipper self today, but since he's so easygoing anyway, it's hard to notice.

He is 13 pounds, 13.5 ounces and 25 1/4 inches long. He has surpassed Lucy at this age and is off the charts in height. Everywhere I go, people ask how old he is and are quite surprised when I tell them. The consensus is he looks about 4 months old. He is "talking" and smiling a ton and his new favorite past time is sucking on his hand.

Lucy continues to be very sweet with him and I'm pretty sure she considers him one of her many "possessions."

Nana's 60th Birthday

We had a great weekend in Entiat for my mom's 60th birthday. Lucy had a great time swimming with her cousins in the river and the pool. We also hit the water slide park in Chelan again, and we had a blast.

Independence Day

We hit the Kirkland Kids Parade for the 4th. We decorated Lucy's stroller and walked down Central Way, with about a million other kids. Lucy was a little stoic but Ryan told her to wave and so she was waving at the crowd like a beauty queen - it was pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself.
Then over to "Gwacie's" for a BBQ. It was another hot one so the kids were in the pool and on the slip slide. Then of course, there was ice cream.

The 3rd of July

Lucy insisted on wearing her 4th of July dress on the 3rd. We spent the day at Lake Sawyer with friends and family - it was a scorcher.
