Pee Wee Soccer






Lucy had her first real soccer match on Saturday. It took a little bit of explaining for her to understand what the game was about. I explained to her that she was on the red team and she needed to keep the ball away from the orange team. She said "But they need a turn too!"

Hot Air Balloons

One of the many joys of living in our new neighborhood is getting to see the hot air balloons that frequent the airspace around here. A few weeks ago we had one that landed very close to the back of our house. Ever since then, Lucy has been fascinated by them. So this evening we caught sight of one as we were driving home. It looked like it may make another close landing to our house so we hung out in the driveway to watch it.

I asked Lucy if she wanted to ride in a hot air balloon and she said, "Yeah!" I told her that might have to be an activity for her and Ryan because I might be too scared. She said, "Don't worry, Mom, it's safe. Benny rides in his hot air balloon all by himself."

Hmmm, well, if the purple, talking, cartoon cow on Dora does it, then maybe I can consider it...

4th of July Parade
















We went down to Kirkland and marched in the kiddie parade in the morning. Lucy was very excited. We decorated the wagon and she waved to the spectators then had to get out and march. John found the whole thing rather boring and promptly fell asleep.

Here's Lucy in the outfit she chose for Wyatt's birthday. Then she went outside and played a little baseball in it.
